Lately people have been calling me a professional bridesmaid.  I have been in 3 weddings in the past 5 months.  I am so thankful that 3 of my friends found their other halves and that they wanted to included lil ol me in their weddings, however, being blessed with height can make it a little difficult to fit into  a commercial bridesmaids dress.  Fortunately my friends consulted with me before they assigned dresses to the wedding party to see if there was a place that had tall bridesmaids dresses.  At the time I am ashamed to say that I had no idea.  Now I do and want to share it with you. 

Basically there are certain designers that can add extra length to their dresses (check out the new Bridal link to the right.  I will be adding new designers as I find them).  My suggestion would be to go to a bridal store and ask which designers can add extra length.  Then you can try on the dress that you want in the store to fit the top half of your body and order it with extra length to fit the bottom half of your body. 

I ordered a long Bill Levkoff dress and got double the extra length for an additional $20 and it fit perfect! I also ordered an Alfred Angelo dress that was supposed to be cocktail length however it was barely covering my front.  They added 3 extra inches for $25 and voila!..no peek-a-boo show at my friends wedding!

Uncuff Me

Looking for tall fashion at an actual store is not the easiest thing to do.  You go into the store, grab the "tall" item of clothing and walk to the dressing room only to be greeted by a short door that gives you no privacy.  Then to top it all off you find out that the "tall" clothing that you picked out is an imposter!  Your ankles or wrists are chilly, you look like you are waiting for a flood and your hopes for new tall fashion go from YAY! to what the???  But then there are times when u can't look through the sites and wait for your clothes to arrive in the mail sooooo what do you do?

3 simple words...LOOK FOR CUFFS.

Cuffs can make a regular cut of clothing extra long.  Most cuffs are finished on the inside so all you have to do is uncuff the cuff and BLAM you have instant tall clothing.  I have a pair of pants that still hit the ground when I wear 4 inch heels because I brought down the cuff. 

This may seem simple but hey...I wouldn't be your tall fashionista friend if I didn't share simple secrets:)

I just noticed that my site has started to look like a shoe store LOL and although everyone loves a good tall shoe, I clearly need to post some tall clothes as well.  I have been eyeing these Limited Edition Tall Stirrup Legging Jeans from Gap for awhile.  I can't vouch for them yet but they look amazing!  I need some saucy stirrups in my life (I am talking about the jeans people:)...how about you?
