ASOS Tall

Spice Girl

This tall dress is out of this world!  It's on the way from the TTYA London BLACK line that debuted on ASOS this week.

The line is nothing like you have ever seen in Tall. Clean, modern and completely unique. I love every piece, especially this fab dress which is next up to be released.

I feel incredibly sexy in this dress! The foundation of the dress is a great tall-short length and the mesh overlay adds that spice that takes the little black dress to new levels. Most importantly, the overlay is the perfect length; a true midi, appropriate arm length and a slit that doesn't go all the way up to the bottom of our cheeks. You can definitely tell that a lot of thought went in to the piece right down to the thin rubber strip that lines the entire top seam of the dress to prevent it from moving around underneath the mesh. Well done TTYA London!

I am wearing a dress and paired it with Calvin Klein neutral pumps (size 12 via Nordstrom Rack) because this dress needs nothin else to make it pop.

Definitly look out for this dress to drop soon and check out all of the other new releases from #TTYABlack!

This outfit is a testament to many things...

1. You don't have to buy something new to rock a new and exciting outfit. These are all pieces I have owned for some time remixed in to a fabulous fit. I can't tell you how many compliments I received. If you want a new look, it's often right there in your closet.

2. Try everything on! I saw these pants at the Collage Clothing Lounge in Oakland and thought what we all think while shopping in stores...there is no way those are gonna be long enough. I tried them on anyway and I am so thankful that I did because there are some of my favorite pants! You just never truly know until you try.

3. Ignore the RULES. If you let some people tell it, mixing patterns is wrong and furthermore tall women shouldn't wear loud colors or patterns because it draws more attention to them. Pish to the posh! SO FAR from the truth. Wear what makes you feel best, Give them something to stare at hunni! Don't let anyone limit your style and how you express it. From neon to patterns, don't let anyone hold your style back because often times they are afraid to express theirs themselves. Society, get away from with all that!

What I wish for you is freedom. Freedom in what you do. Freedom in what you wear. Freedom in what you feel about yourself. You are exceptionally beautiful inside and out and I want you to show the world your strength and self-love in every single way that you can whether it be in your style, walk or words...

Live out your purpose, live in your purpose and freely show the world who you are!

#TallGirlInTheTunnel

As you know (or maybe not), I work for the Golden State Warriors. Right about now, at this point in the season, we are crazy busy. Not only are we finishing our regular season games (12 home games this month alone), we are also preparing for the Playoffs. It has been quite the month to say the least. Definitely blessed to be here, but we are workin yall!

With that said, I have been serving some major #TallGirlInTheTunnel posts and I thought I would tie them all together in a lovely post just because :-)

What in the Sam Hill is the #TallGirlInTheTunnel?

Well my friends, I stand in my heels in the north tunnel (a.k.a. the tunnel that the visiting team runs out of ) during the games. I direct the Warriors TV pregame show and then I am a stage manager for all of the talent and contests that come out of the north side during the actual game. While out and about in The Bay I often get, Hey! You are that Tall Girl In the Tunnel! Thus, BOOM! #TallGirlInTheTunnel

So here are 6 looks that I werked while I worked. Click on the photos for all of the details on my Instagram. I would love to hear which one is your favorite in the comments below.

Since my post about my natural hair, I have received so many comments and emails of encouragement. Thank you so much! I still and will always believe that everyone is wonderfully made in every single way but let me tell you...going natural is not easy.

I am starting to love my natural hair but it takes an immense amount of time to care for it. I cannot tell you the time, money and emotion that I have already put into my locs and it hasn't even been a month yet! If anything, the time (especially during the season) will eventually be the reason why I go back into a far more healthy protective style (or cut it off into a haute style) however I am going to give it some more time...I won't give up that easily!

Another thing that is hard for me to adopt is the way that I look in photos. It's not that I don't like what I see, it's that I don't recognize me. I found myself saying...who is she? And really, that is one of the things I am finding on this journey. I am in a place occupationally, emotionally, relationally and physically, where I am really finding who I am and where I want to be. It's something that we all constantly go through, I just happen to be particularly uncomfortable in multiple areas at the current moment. It's okay and in many ways exciting because God always does his best work during these times.

One thing about style that I love, is that it can change your entire mood. You can be going through a lot and slip on one of your favorite pieces and boom...you feel brand new. Clothes don't make you BUT they sure can change your day and these pieces by the ASOS Tall line definitely fit that bill.

Look how long these joggers are! Tall, chic and comfy...you can't beat that. Joggers are very versatile pants...lightweight for the summer months and can be paired with a blazer or sweater in fall and winter. A pair of joggers should be in every tall girls closet.

Do we really have to talk about the LongLine Vest!? Insert smiley face with hearts in the eyes here. It's just a beautiful piece. Longer tops are definitely hot right now and the tall cut of this vest hits us just right.

So there you have it. This is where I am and what I am wearing through every moment:) Talk to you soon cutie pies!

I feel pretty,

oh so pretty.

I feel pretty and whitty and bright!!! (in my Julie Andrews voice)

This outfit has me all giddy y'all. I mean, what girl doesn't want to prance around The City in a frilly dress, fab heels and a faux fur coat??? This Tall Girl does and did.

Last weekend my friend was having a little soiree in San Fran so I hopped on the Alameda ferry and floated right over. As you can imagine it was chilly (and it's always a bit windy in SF) so I opted for tights instead of bare legs. I also thought it added a pinch of glam to the look.

I absolutely love everything in the pink-blush family right now and this dress definitely hit the color mark. I paired the pink with greys to keep the whole look soft. And don't you just love the tall-short length? It's definitely showing some leg (as we should) but we would also be showcasing some buns too without the tall ASOS cut of this mini frock.

The shoes take the glam meter up a notch as well because of the t-strap. It's a nod to those proper times where bustles were très chic.

Last but certainly not least, my neck was definitely frosted out cubic zirconia style (fake it til you make it boo) courtesy of the one and only Forever 21. I am pretty sure I put one of the owners kids through college with all of the accessories I have purchased over the years (a bit over the top, but you get my drift). You just can't beat the chic options and price points.

We had a fabulous time but it really didn't matter in the end because...I felt so dang pretty!

So dress in what makes you feel giddy and have some fun this weekend! I will be mad at you if you don't and nobody likes a mad Alicia;)
