Jump For my Love

Jumpsuits.

The word alone sends a tall girl into a sweat. Say the word jump and a literal tear forms in our eyes. From few and far between to cut completely wrong, it's hard for us to find one and to find one that we like is a miracle.

Well lookie here...I think she found one!

This bad mamma jamma is from the current CURATD X Long Tall Sally collection and it does not disappoint.

If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know I love comfort in my clothing and this jumpsuit definitely fits the bill. It's completely chic but feels like you are walking around in PJ's all day. That's a win in my book.

I chose some sneaks from LTS as well. I love the blush color. They go with anything and in this case really set the look off. If you don't want to stay sporty, add your favorite wedges and pair of statement earrings. Boom! A whole new look.

This is just one of those pieces that is ready to go. You literally put it on and you are ready for the day. It's a great piece from a great collection. Check out this jumpsuit and the rest of the collection HERE.

Have a fabulous day gorgeous! Keep that energy around you high. Don't let anyone else's bad day bring you down, Remember, you are the gatekeeper. Keep your space beautiful just like you:)

I have expressed this many times but I have to say it again...I LOVE THE ASOS TALL LINE! It is forward thinking and cut beautifully for us. They have some AH-MAZ-ING fall pieces coming in. Definitely check them out.

Now, this outfit is cute and everything but I feel like I need to take this in another direction today...

There are many myths that people will try to get you to believe about your height and this picture debunks three of them... 1) Tall Girls shouldn't wear heels, 2) Tall Girls shouldn't wear print and 3) Women with exceptional size feet shouldn't wear white shoes. In fact, I have been told all three. ALL are ignorant statements and ALL are lies that they want you to believe to stop you from being the fabulous, amazing, knock-down gorgeous woman that you are.

What you must understand is that the people who make these types of rules are the same ones who are afraid to live outside them. Don't be that person. Be unapologetically Y-O-U.  Rock those heels, put those white shoes on your size 12 feet, wear the loudest print possible from the top of your pretty head to your baby toe...I don't care what it looks like to anyone else, be the YOU that YOU want to be.

Guess who needed this tonight? Her first name starts with Alicia and her last names begins with a Jay. We all need a reminder sometimes and I am no different.

#BeYOU my tall, beautiful friend!!!

Lazy Sunday

We all know how I feel about a flat.  If they are your thing, great. But my personal favorite for footwear has always been a fierce heel.  However, there are no doubt those days where a flat is the only thing that seems appropriate.  One of those days was Sunday.

I went to the city for shopping with the girls and a pic-lunch in the park.  All of this equates to a lot of walking.  I wanted some shoes that were comfortable yet made a statement.  My BFT Napas were perfect.  The pop of graphic color showed that I don't play around when it comes to my shoes BUT I also don't play around with comfort on those days when you are walking too dang much (yes, this is what goes through my head when I'm getting ready for the day).

Because my shoes were statements on their own, I threw on two of my comfy favs that go with almost everything: my Height Goddess jeans and a Bella long sleeved white top.  Both are cute and more importantly both are long enough.

Honorable mention to my Mom's belt.  I love it and it was free99.  Straight out of her closet when she wasn't looking.

Last, but certainly not least, the lime green/yellowish, ombre scarf.  What had happened was, my friend was wearing it, it didn't go with what she was wearing, so I took it off of her and put it on me.

So that's my lazy Sunday outfit.  What do you wear on a lazy Sunday? Email photos to info@TallSWAG.com. We want to see and share.

It's all about YOU

Eeek! I need a tan STAT.

Now that that is out of the way, isn't this jumper from Height Goddess fabulous! It's a very simple way to look absolutely chic.  One step and you are good to go.  Not to mention it's cut just for us so no camel toe.

As you can see my back is out.  This would have never happened during my less confident years.  I was so busy trying to 'shrink' myself that showing skin was out of the question.

Clearly it's not a problem anymore lol. I wear what I want to, when I want to.  I would never tell anyone what to do, but I hope you do too.  You are an amazing, beautiful person that should never be ashamed to express yourself in the exact way that YOU want to.  It may not be a backless jumper, it may not be 5" heels but never be ashamed of what you have or how to show it to the world.

I know. Easier said than done. Trust and know it took me a long time to find my real self.  I had so many people telling me what was pretty, ugly, normal, right, wrong etc. that I didn't know what I really wanted let alone embraced the gifts that God gave me.  Now that I know, I will do everything in my power to make sure that those who don't, do.

Wear YOU. Be YOU. Love YOU.

Backyard BBQ

When I say it was beautiful this past weekend, I mean it was GORG! The absolute perfect time to have a barbeque with my friends.  Now, being the first one of the season, I had to put a little more effort into it.  No flip-flops, shorts and tanks (although they are on thier way out).  I started it off with a bang, boom, pow!

I knew I wanted to wear this skirt from Long Tall Sally. It's amazing.  So amazing, I did a review on it. Watch it por favor.

I kept it simple with a neutral belt and Target tank (which obviously needed to be hit with a lint brush.  The proof is in picture 5), and my favorite Nordstrom Rack wedges.  I call them the green machines (yes, I sometimes name my clothes and shoes).

The period on the sentence, the super red, stone necklace from Amrita Singh. I seriously wanted to marry it the first time I saw it, but I came to the conclusion that, that was just silly.

What are you wearing to the first summer get-togethers? Email your looks to info@TallSWAG.com.

Independence Day

I will never forget the day another tall woman came up to me and told me that I shouldn't be wearing red because it would bring MORE attention to me (it was a super cute shirt btw). I was baffled, astonished, mad and then sad. Before I could even react, she was off. Clearly she tried to paint her insecurities on me. Thank God they didn't stick.  I hope they aren't sill stuck with her.

I am all about red (really any color) this season.  It highlights your amazing presence.  I LOVE these pants from Ann Taylor LOFT (10T). They are super flattering and the fabric is comfy (it's almost like wearing sweatpants).  The pants were long enough with flats (36") but I wanted to wear them with the platforms (Payless pick-ups) so I had a tailor bring them down (a good tailor should become your best friend.  I wish I could legally adopt mine).

The shirt is also Ann Taylor LOFT.  I really bought it because I had a promo code and needed $10 more dollars to make the $20 off quota (I live for a sale).  So really, I feel like I almost got the shirt for free (which we know isn't really true but I'm going to roll with it).  However, I wear the shirt all the time.  With jeans, skirts, suits, you get the drift.  Most of the time I keep it tied but I also leave it long for a "tie" look.

Last but not least, my baby, the vintage blue handbag.  Can you believe I picked it up for $12!?! I was as shocked as you are.  I stumbled upon this watch repair shop by my office that doubles as a vintage handbag shop (SCORE) and have been going weekly ever since.

I say all of that to say this. No matter what ANYONE says, rock whatever you want to rock when you want to rock it. That is all.

PS. Don't sleep on the bracelet.  It was the perfect period to the fit and is a Candid Art origiNAL.
