Good Day Sacramento

November 30th not only marks my birthday, it will now also be known as the day that I recorded my first style segment on Good Day Sacramento. I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunity and here it is! Drumroll please...

Now for the deets! Neutrals will be taking over this season and to celebrate the trend, I styled 4 Tall looks that go a little somethin like this:

 ISSA WRAP

Carly (6'2") rocked a Tall wrap dress from Alloy Apparel. The arms are super long and the midi actually hits where a midi is supposed to. The shoes are by House No. 3028. You can order any shade of nude in sizes up to 13. In addition you have the option for a 2"-5" heel and a matte or shine finish. 

SPORTY SPICE

Monique (6'5") beautified an all black look with a little edge to it. The jumpsuit is from Height Goddess and is built just for our tall frames. It's not available right now but here are some options from asos and Long Tall Sally. The asos Tall leather look jacket and BRASH sneakers (up to size 13) completed this look.

SWEAT EQUITY

High necks and belled sleeves are both on-trend this season. With this tall sweater dress from Long Tall Sally you get both! Monica (6'1") served this navy piece (up to size 18) with a belt and these killer over-the-knee boots from Smash Shoes (they are REALLY over-the-knee and up to size 14). A simple, chic look that will never go out of style.  

COAT OF ARMS

Now you know it's hard to find a coat that keeps those wrists warm and hunni asos has one straight from heaven. Lameka (6'1") slayed it on Good Day with some 36" Height Goddess Jeans, a roll neck top from LTS and some beautiful Smash booties (up to size 14). Check out these jean options from asos, LTS, Alloy Apparel, Doubs Clothing and Amalli Talli.  

As for me...I have on a Long Tall Sally dress from last season and a pair of Eleanor Anukam heels (size 12).

A segment like this really takes a village to execute and let me tell you...my village is gorgeous and strong! Thank you to my dear friends Carly, Monique, Monica and Lameka for shutting these looks all the way down, my ace Nikki Notarte for always having my back and enhancing all of our beauty with her talents and last but certainly not least Courtney Dempsey for making all of this possible! God has really placed some incredible people in my life. I am blessed in every single way!

Busy Becoming Me

I'm busy yo. 

My busy has increased ten fold over the last 3 months. I'm blessed. It's what I have been praying for and please believe that I will move my feet right to the promises that God has for me. I'm listening and more importantly acting on the last thing God told me to do.

With that busy, comes a craving for a streamlined look. I need it to be easy, chic and reflect me. 

Enter neutral pieces like this versatile skirt. Long Tall Sally killed it with this one. Love the length, the color and shape. I can wear this with anything and I do. I often wear it more than once a week and dare someone to say something. Who cares?

Now, I am sure that this hits some type of trend, but this is also something that I no longer care about. In the past I picked things to fulfill a style quota of sorts. I would comb the Internets looking for the next big thing. What a waste of time. Style is a reflection of you. I love a good fashion show just like the next person but never should a runway dictate what you put on your body.

I must say, shedding strongholds is hard work. From style to love letting go of things that no longer serve you is uncomfortable but it's necessary to get closer to who we are and who we need to be. God cannot give you anything new if you are constantly holding on to things He didn't give you in the first place. Society is good for telling you who you should be but God set you apart. He created you specifically and you must walk the path He tailored for you. It's the best, most beautiful place to be.

This really got deep. I was talking about a skirt and went in lol. Probably because this is where I'm at. Everything is deep. I'm changing and moving closer to God every single day. I am right smack dab in the middle of a refinement period and I'm thankful.

Where are you at? Wherever it is, know that it is making you stronger. We are all learning and growing. There is no time like the present to stand tall in your truth and let God do His best, most formative work on YOU.

Hello Beautiful! It's been quite awhile since my last post. My bad. Life has been crazy. I have an amazing project that I have been working on (that I can't quite talk about yet) and the Playoffs (Go Warriors!) are right around the corner so I have been slammed. Please know that I missed you every moment I was away!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I raved about the H&M New Neutrals line. I love a great neutral and all of the pieces (which flew off the shelves) were right up my alley. I went to the store the day they were released and of course most of the options didn't fit BUT they had this amazing sweater that did. It's super comfy but has side detailing that makes the sweater polished. It has short sleeves, which make it a great option for us and also a surprisingly long body. I know I say it time and time again but it's a testament to the fact that you must try things on.

I put on a form fitting skirt to balance out the silhouette and threw on my babies...the Rollie from Smash Shoes. Side Note: Smash Shoes just came out with an over the knee boot in sizes 10-13 which you will see in a future post so stay tuned. And last but not least, I added one of my fav trends this season, a bag in a bag! You can bring all of your stuff in the bigger bag or put the essentials in the smaller bag and keep it movin...a Tall Girl loves her some options!
